Music History / Appreciation Class with Fred Kronacher
The Concerto
Upcoming classes will focus on the Concerto – from its inception in the Baroque period through the classical, Romantic, and Modern eras. We will examine the masterpieces of the Concerto form by such diverse composers as Vivaldi, Bach, Mozart, Beethoven, Schumann, Chopin, Brahms, Tchaikovsky, Prokofiev, Rachmaninoff, Gershwin, and others.
Fred Kronacher is a performing pianist, teacher, author, and lecturer. He is the artistic director of Musical Experiences, has served on the faculties of the New Mexico School of Music and the Brooklyn Conservatory of Music in New York. He has give preview talks and seminars with the Santa Fe Opera and maintains a private piano studio in Santa Fe.
