Musical Experiences is coming to the end of its 24th and final season. This summer I shall be starting a new chapter of life in Santa Fe, New Mexico. It won’t be easy saying good-bye to Seattle. It has certainly been an honor to present so many musical programs over the years. My heartfelt gratitude […]
Opening the ear. Inspiring the mind. Touching the heart.
Welcome to Musical Experiences
Dear Friends and Music Lovers,
I am pleased to announce the 24th season of Musical Experiences. After giving it much thought, I have chosen to limit myself to three performances this season – two public concert programs and one gala fundraising recital.
The November fundraiser will be devoted to piano works by Scarlatti, Schubert, Brahms, Mendelssohn and Chopin.
My January recitals at the Steinway Piano Gallery in downtown Seattle will feature the classical masters, Haydn, Mozart and Beethoven.
Finally, in June, it is my pleasure to once again welcome cellist extraordinaire Jennifer Culp for a concert at the warm and intimate Green Lake United Methodist Church. We will collaborate in a program celebrating the music of early German Romanticism’s two greatest composers, Mendelssohn and Schumann. These two brilliant friends – one the “Classical Romantic,” the other the “Arch-Romantic” – set the course for one of music’s great Golden Ages.
I continue to visit Seattle area schools, talking up great composers and playing their music, as well as offering a course in piano literature this fall.
My thanks to all of you for the warm support you’ve given Musical Experiences over the years. I hope to see you at this season’s concert programs. It remains my goal to open the ear, inspire the mind, and touch the heart.
